Dr. Joshua Cox was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. He graduated salutatorian from Lake Travis High School in Austin, Texas after his family relocated there prior to his Sophomore year. He went on to attend Baylor University where he was a part of the Honors Program which allowed him to obtain degrees in Psychology, Business and Chemistry. After graduation he remained at Baylor where he pursued his Master’s degree in Biochemistry while working as a TA in the Chemistry department.
Dr. Cox was then fortunate to be accepted into The Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas where he completed his medical doctorate. It was during this time that he went on mission trips to Peru and the Dominican Republic and truly discovered his passion for helping others through surgery. After obtaining his medical degree, he matched into the six year integrated plastic surgery residency program at Baylor College of Medicine where he trained under leading experts and pioneers in the world of plastic surgery at Ben Taub, Texas Children’s, the Michael E. DeBakey VAMC, St. Luke’s/Texas Heart Institute, Methodist and the world-renowned MD Anderson Cancer Center.
During these years, Dr. Cox refined his surgical skills and developed a special interest in surgeries of the breast and body. His goal is to bring a unique approach to his practice, one in which every patient experiences his integration of a compassionate and attentive bedside manner with an excellent aesthetic eye, exceptional surgical skills, and meticulous attention to detail. Dr. Cox and his staff understand how plastic surgery can be a life-changing experience and will take the time to understand each person’s situation and tailor their approach to achieve the goals of each patient.
Dr. Cox founded Cox Cosmetic Surgery in Houston, Texas in 2018 and recently relocated his practice to The Star in Frisco, Texas in order to come back home and be closer to his parents. Outside of work he enjoys attending Dallas Cowboys and Dallas Mavericks games, playing with his dog Fred and going to the gym.
