On the day of your surgery, Dr. Cox will meet you in the preoperative area to go over any last-minute questions or concerns you may have. Dr. Cox will make preoperative markings and will perform extensive checks with attention to detail, ensuring high-quality care and safety. You will meet the anesthesiologist and his/her team, as well as the members of our plastic surgery operative team.
During the procedure, Dr. Cox pays meticulous attention to detail and work to ensure a great result with a focus on safety and quality. Your family will be updated on your status periodically and will be able to talk with the physician one-on-one after the Brazilian Butt Lift procedure is completed. The procedure typically lasts 2.5-4 hours, and patients go home the same day after surgery.
After your Brazilian Butt Lift, you will be placed in a post-surgical garment with gauze dressings. It is normal to have some drainage from the liposuction port sites after surgery. Swelling and bruising can be expected for two to six weeks after surgery.
Dr. Cox recommends you refrain from heavy lifting greater than 10 pounds or strenuous activity for two to six weeks after the butt lift procedure. After buttock augmentation with fat grafting, 50-80% of the fat is expected to remain after the initial procedure. As with any area of the body, weight loss or weight gain, the aging process, and gravity can affect your results. Additional lifting or body contouring may be required to improve your results over the years.
